Missing ERO Name Error on TaxWise

It sounds like you're encountering the "Missing ERO Name" error when trying to send a return for e-signature in TaxWise Online. This error typically indicates that the ERO (Electronic Return Originator) information is not correctly set up in the system.

Here are a few steps to ensure that the ERO name is properly entered:

  1. The ERO information needs to be filled out in the Return Template as in the Settings.

    You can enter your ERO information into your template and it will populate for all future return templates you use.

    If you're done completing the template with your ERO information, be sure to ASSIGN it to your preparer profile by choosing "Assign" in the Return Templates screen.

    At that point, all future returns will for sure have it.

    For your existing returns without ERO information yet, you have to manually enter on the bottom part of Form 8879.

    If the ERO error doesn't push you to request signatures to the client even after updating your ERO information, kindly double check if you have ticked the Print Signature box and if you have filled out the ERO Signature details. Refer to the sample below:
