The IRS issues “Reject Code: R0000-019 The number of return documents (forms, schedules, and supporting documents) included in the return must equal the document count specified in the Return Data (documentCount attribute of the ReturnData element of the Return)," when there's a mismatch.

It means the number of documents you're sending doesn't match what the IRS is expecting.

How to Correct Reject Code R0000-019

  1. Check Your Forms: Go to the Forms Completed and View Results sections in Taxslayer. Look for any blank forms or schedules you might have created but didn't complete. Even blank forms count towards the total, so remove them!

  2. Review Supporting Statements: In the View Results menu, find any supporting statements, especially those created from an "Other" menu (like "Other Assets" or "Other Income"). Ensure every entry has both a description and a dollar amount (that isn't $0). If something's missing, fill it in or remove the item.

By cleaning up these discrepancies, you should be able to clear the error and successfully file your return.
