Welcome to Snappy's easy-to-use design tool! This guide will walk you through customizing your swag items with our AI-powered tools.

1️⃣ Getting Started: Accessing the Design Tool

Log in to your store's dashboard.
Go to the "Customize" tab.
Select "Store Products."
Find the item you want to customize, hover over it, and click "Design."

This will open a new screen. See below the specific buttons and areas that we will refer to in this article.

2️⃣ Understanding the Design Area

Print Area (Red Dotted Line): This is the area that will be printed. Keep all your designs within this boundary.
Live Preview: Use this to see how your design will look on the final product.
Layers (Left Side Menu): Think of layers as stacked images. The top layer is what you see on top.

3️⃣ Working with Layers

The left side menu of the editing page is displaying the different logos or graphics of the design. These are arranged per layer - the first item listed is the top layer of the design.

Rearranging Layers: Click and drag layers up or down to change their order.
Hiding/Showing Layers: Click the "eye" icon to hide or show a layer.
Copying Layers: Click the "copy" icon to duplicate a layer.

In the example below, Layer 2 was rearranged and now shows on top of Layer 1.

4️⃣ Adding Elements

Adding a new Logo:
- On the layers menu, click "+ Add" → "Logo" → "Upload new."
- Select your logo (PNG, JPEG, JPG, or SVG - SVG is best).
- The new logo will be added to the layers of the design.
  - If your uploaded image is low-resolution, you'll get a warning. Replace the logo or the product will not be available in your store.
Adding Graphics:
- On the left-side menu, click "+ Add" → "Graphic."
- Choose from "AI designs" or upload your own ("Your Uploads"→ "Upload new").
- The new logo will be added to the layers of the design.
Adding Text:
- On the left-side menu "+ Add" → "Text."
- Type your text in the layers tab.
- Change font and color in the layers tab.

- On the left-side menu, click "+ Add" → "Personalized."
- Click "Select personalization type" and choose the field you wish to pull for personalization (ex. Last name)

5️⃣ Resizing and Moving Elements

Resizing: Click an element, then click and drag a corner.
Rotating: Click an element, then click and drag the top square.
Moving: Click and drag an element to move it.

6️⃣ Important Design Considerations

Printing Techniques: Be aware of the printing technique used for your product, as some have specific design requirements. Find more information on the printing techniques information page.
Resolution:
- Use high-resolution images.
- A warning will appear if an image is low-resolution after resizing. Replace it with a higher-quality image, or the product will not be available.
Color (CMYK):
- Designs must be in CMYK color format for printing.
- A warning will appear for non-CMYK colors. Replace the image with one using CMYK.
