Sociavore will provide you a free hosted domain for your restaurant's website, the URL will look like this:

To publish the website with your own custom domain, eg. "myrestaurant.com" follow the steps below to connect your domain name to your Sociavore account.

From the “Home” Tab, click the “Add Your Own Domain” button on the checklist. You can also access this later by clicking on the “Website” Tab on the sidebar. Don't have a domain name yet? Click here to read this article.

Step 1 - Click “Domain” from the right side panel on the screen.

  • Take note of your free Sociavore-hosted domain, in other words, you can immediately see the website on this live URL.

  • Enter the domain name on the space provided, then click “Save”

Step 2 - Point your domain to Sociavore

You will create two A records. One for www (i.e. https://www.domain.com) and one for the 'naked ' URL (i.e. https://domain.com)

  1. Log into your domain's registrar account or admin panel.

  2. Open your DNS settings. Sometimes called DNS Manager, or DNS Control Page, or Host Records, or Advanced DNS editor, or similar.

  3. Edit your A record so that it points to Sociavore's IP address 35.192.183.203.

In the Name/Host/Alias/Hostname, enter the @ symbol or choose it from a dropdown (depends on how the provider has implemented it)

    In the Value/Points to/Destination/Address/IP field, enter 35.192.183.203

  4. Create another A record for 'www' to work that points to Sociavore's IP address 35.192.183.203.

In the Name/Host/Alias/Hostname, enter www or choose it from a dropdown (depends on how the provider has implemented it)

    In the Value/Points to/Destination/Address/IP field, enter 35.192.183.203

  5. Click Save or the Add Record option to save the A-record. This may take 24-48 hours for the propagation to be completed.

Add an SSL to Your Custom Domain

You may also add an SSL to your custom domain. Adding SSL makes your site secure. It protects your customers when they go to your website and submit any sensitive information such as address, phone number or credit card information. It changes the URL from "http" to https". This is an optional step, your custom domain will work even without the SSL.

To add SSL to your custom domain, just send as a message through chat and we'll get an SSL certificate issued to your domain.
