How to Redirect Your Old Non-Existing Pages to Your Sociavore Website

Learn how to create a 301 redirect to force old websites pages to automatically go to any page in your Sociavore website

Updated over a week ago

If you have have existing pages on your domain name before using it on your Sociavore website, they might show up on Google search and if someone clicks on it, it may show a 404 - page not found message. Eventually Google will drop them from the search results, but you can also force a 301 redirect on those pages.

What's a 301 Redirect?

You can think of it as a mail forwarder. When someone visits that old page from your old website, we can force it to redirect to a new URL, in this case to one of your Sociavore website pages.

Step 1 - Go the the Advanced Website Dashboard

start by clicking the website tab
click on the advanced tab

Step 2 - Create the 301 Redirect

Navigate to the Redirect section, and enter the following:

  • From - old URL slugname (eg. /weekly_jazz)

  • To - slugname of existing Sociavore page (eg. /home)

  • Status - set it to "301" (which means permanent direct)
