Some users may notice that when selecting “Select from Canva” inside SocioConnect, the expected design assets do not appear. This relates to how Canva authorises integrations by Team. SocioConnect can only access the active Canva Team at the time of connection. If the wrong team is selected during authorisation, the wrong content (or no content) will appear.
The steps below will help you reconnect Canva properly so the correct team’s assets are visible.
How to Correct the Canva Connection on Desktop
Step 1 - Disconnect SocioLocal from Canva
For Mobile users, open the Canva app and follow the same steps.
Scroll to the Integrations connected to Canva
Click Disconnect next to SocioLocal
4. Confirm by clicking Disconnect in the pop-up
Step 2 - Switch to the Correct Canva User/Team
5. On canva.com, click your user avatar in the bottom-left corner. (On Mobile, open the Canva App and go to Settings)
6. Under the Teams heading, click the relevant item
7. In the Switch Teams pop-up, select the Team the team that contains the design content you need
Important - The Canva Team you select here determines which assets will be available inside SocioConnect
Step 3 - Reconnect Canva via SocioConnect
8. Go to: https://www.socioconnect.io/posts
On Mobile, open the SocioConnect app and go to the posting screen as normal.
9. Click the image selector icon when creating a post
10. Click "Select from Canva"
A Canva authorisation dialogue will open
Step 4 - Check for the Team Selector
11. Look for a "Team selector dropdown" in the pop-up:
If the "Team Selector" does NOT appear, close the dialogue (do not click Allow or Cancel). Return to Step 5 and switch Teams again in Canva
If the "Team Selector" DOES appear, select the correct Team from the dropdown
12. Click Allow
Step 5 - Confirm Access
13. You should now see the correct Team's designs inside SocioConnect.
If you need to access content from a different Canva Team in the future, you will need to repeat this process from Step 1. Canva requires the integration to be disconnected before the Team selection dialog will reappear.
