The percentage compares two back-to-back 7-day windows: the last 7 days against the 7 days before that. It tells you whether a product's sales are speeding up or slowing down.
How to read the number
The sign carries the direction:
A positive % means the product sold more in the most recent 7 days than in the prior 7.
A negative % means it sold less.
0% means sales were roughly the same across both periods.
What the percentage doesn't tell you
A big increase doesn't always mean big sales: a product that sold very little before and a bit more recently shows a huge percentage from a tiny base. The number doesn't predict future sales, doesn't guarantee the product keeps selling, and doesn't show who caused the sales.
How to use it
Use the percentage to spot products selling more right now, then check the volume behind the move. Pair it with total units sold and stock so you're not reacting to a small base.
