Travelling with Soma and Scheduling Plans

Updated over a month ago

When you travel, your local timezone changes. This can affect how scheduled plans appear and when they activate.

Example: Los Angeles → Zurich

  • You create and assign a plan in Los Angeles (PDT) for 11:00 AM on Thursday.

  • That plan is stored as 11:00 AM Los Angeles time and set to activate later that week.

  • When you travel to Zurich, that same plan is still locked to 11:00 AM Los Angeles time — which means it will go live at 20:00 Zurich time.

How to Push a Plan Earlier

If you want a plan to activate before its scheduled time:

  1. Locate the plan.

  2. Click Assign again.

  3. Soma will update the plan to the current date and time (“now”).

  4. When the time is “now,” Soma force-pushes the plan immediately.

Key Takeaway

  • Scheduled Plan → Fires at the locked time it was originally assigned (based on the timezone you created it in).

  • Assign Now → Always activates instantly, no matter where you are in the world.
