Creating Reusable Templates

If you build a session plan from scratch every time a new athlete comes in, you're wasting time you don't need to. Templates in Soma Analytics fix that. You build the structure once, then reuse it for every athlete.

Here's how to build one.

First, name your template after its length so it's easy to find later, for example "12 session blank," "16 session blank," or "20 session blank."

Next, set up your first session. We recommend adding a PVT-B or PFTT both before and after every session, so you get a clean read on fatigue across the whole block.

If you plan to run a baseline test at the start of each plan, name this first session "Baseline." Then name each session after it in order: "Session 1," "Session 2," and so on, up to the full length of your template, whether that's 12, 16, or 20 sessions.

As you build each session, you can also:

  • Add scales, if you want to use them.

  • Turn on minute-on-minute tracking, if you need it.

If neither applies to you, that's fine. Just leave them off and keep going.

Once the template is built, the hard work is done. Every time a new athlete starts a programme, you load the template, add tasks to each session, and you're ready to go.

Build it once and save yourself the time forever.

No rebuilding. No starting from zero.
