How Soma Calculates MoM Data

Minute on Minute

Updated over 10 months ago

MoM data is derived using two key measures - the Grand Mean (GM) and the Mean of Minute Means (MoM). The GM is the average of all individual trial responses, while the MoM represents the unweighted average of the mean values for each minute. When the minute means are derived from the same number of trials, the MoM aligns with the GM. However, a larger divergence between the MoM and GM occurs when an athlete's performance demonstrates greater variability.
