If there's a song, recording, or release in your catalog that should not be pitched during a certain time period, you can easily restrict that asset from pitching using pitching restrictions.
Essentially a "Do Not Pitch" flag, this will alert any team member that the asset is currently restricted when they go to pitch it, along with who restricted it, when they restricted it, and when that restriction will end.
You can pitch restrict assets both in the present or you can set future restrictions to go into effect on the begin date that you choose.
Pitch restricting a song
1. Open the song project that you want to restrict from pitching.
2. Click the ... / More button at the top of the song project.
3. Click Pitching restrictions...
4. Fill in the fields - Begin date is required, but End date and Note are optional. If you add a Begin date and no End date, the song will be restricted from pitching indefinitely until the restriction is lifted.
5. Click Restrict.
If the begin date is today, or has already passed, the song header will turn grey as a visual indication that the song is pitching restricted.
Additionally, the song's row in your catalog will turn yellow - another visual indication that the song is currently pitching restricted.
Pitch restricting a recording
1. Open the song project that contains the recording that you want to restrict from pitching.
2. Click the ... / More button next to the recording you want to restrict from pitching.
3. Click Pitching restrictions...
4. Fill in the fields - Begin date is required, but End date and Note are optional. If you add a Begin date and no End date, the recording will be restricted from pitching indefinitely until the restriction is lifted.
5. Click Restrict.
If the begin date is today, or has already passed, the recording will turn yellow on the song project and in your catalog in the Recordings tab as a visual indication that it is pitching restricted.
Pitch restricting a release
1. Open the release that you want to restrict from pitching.
2. Click the ... / More button at the top of the Release.
3. Click Pitching restrictions...
4. Fill in the fields - Begin date is required, but End date and Note are optional. If you add a Begin date and no End date, the release will be restricted from pitching indefinitely until the restriction is lifted.
5. Click Restrict.
If the begin date is today, or has already passed, the release header will turn grey as a visual indication that it's been pitching restricted. The release will also turn yellow in the Releases tab of your catalog. Additionally, the tracks will become yellow on the release to indicate that they cannot be pitched.
