Adjust property location on the map (GPS pin)

You can set a custom GPS location for a property by placing a pin on a map. SortScape stores these coordinates and uses them for directions and routing instead of the location derived from the address. This helps when your navigation app sends crews to the wrong spot (for example with odd address formatting) or when you need a specific point for rural or hard-to-find properties.

When to use a custom location

  • Directions or navigation apps take crews to the wrong place based on the address

  • Rural or large properties where work is done at a particular spot (e.g. gate, shed, or entrance)

  • The address doesn't geocode accurately and you want to "pin" the correct spot

How to set or change the property location

  1. Open the Property and go to Edit (or add a new property and save it first).

  2. Next to the Address field, click the map-marker button (Adjust GPS location).

  3. In the map that opens:

    • Blue pin - location from the address (geocoded)

    • Red pin - your custom location (used for directions)

  4. Move the red pin: drag it or click on the map where you want the property point.

  5. Use the map controls to zoom or switch map type if needed.

  6. Click Confirm to save the custom location, or Cancel to close without saving.

  7. Save the property form so the new coordinates are stored.

Resetting or clearing the custom location

In the same map modal:

  • Reset - moves the red pin back to the blue pin (address location) for this session. Click Confirm to save that change.

  • Clear custom location - appears when the property already has a custom location; use it to remove the custom coordinates so directions use the address again. Click Confirm, then save the property.

Notes

  • The map-marker button and custom location are only available for existing properties (after the property is created and has an address).

  • Latitude and longitude are shown on the property form when editing; they update when you confirm a custom location in the map.

  • Once set, the custom coordinates are used for routing and directions instead of geocoding the address.
