If you’re leaving the EU through a Spanish land border, you need to complete Customs validation before crossing the border.
DIVA validation is currently available at the following Spanish land border crossings:
La Línea (Gibraltar)
DIVA validation: 09:00–21:00
La Farga de Moles (Andorra)
DIVA validation: 09:00–21:00
At the border
Follow the signs for DIVA or Customs (Aduanas).
Depending on the border crossing, you may be able to validate your Tax Free purchase at a DIVA kiosk, or Customs may complete the validation for you.
Have your passport, receipt, purchased goods and DIVA barcode in the Pie VAT app ready. Customs may ask to inspect your purchases.
If you can’t find a DIVA kiosk
Go to the Customs office (Aduanas) and ask for assistance. If a self-service DIVA kiosk is unavailable, Customs can manually validate your Tax Free documents before you leave the EU.
Allow extra time
Border crossings can be busy, particularly during holidays and peak travel periods. Allow enough time to complete your Tax Free validation before crossing the border.
Important: Make sure your Tax Free purchase has been successfully validated before you leave the EU. Without Customs validation, your refund cannot be processed.
