Our AI Search Agent is your go-to tool for discovering companies based on the criteria you provide—no manual filters needed. Located under the Tools section in the Specter sidebar (or directly at app.tryspecter.com/agent), it leverages advanced AI to parse and interpret your queries, extracting essential details such as:

  • Total Funding

  • Last Funding Type and Date

  • Growth Stage

  • Location

  • Customer Focus

How It Works

  1. Describe Your Target
Simply type in a description of the market segment or company you want to explore—e.g., "Quantum computing companies in North America that last raised a Series A".

2. Semantic Search
The AI Search Agent processes data from multiple sources, including websites and company descriptions, to understand each company’s true focus.

3. Ranked Results
Once you submit a query, results are ranked by Semantic Score, an AI-generated percentage indicating how closely a company matches your search.

Tips & Best Practices

  1. Saved Searches

    • Like our other Specter products, you can save your AI-powered searches. Just click Save Search, give it a name, and it will appear in your Saved Company Searches.

  2. Results Limit

    • The AI Search Agent returns a maximum of 2,000 results.

    • It’s designed to highlight the most relevant companies, not to serve as a comprehensive list of every company.

  3. Choose Your Search Mode

    • Standard, Precise, or Broad—pick your mode based on how narrow or expansive you’d like your results.

    • Use Precise for a smaller, highly relevant set of companies, or Broad for more exploratory searches.

  4. Searching Similar Companies & Competitors

    • You can also use the AI Search Agent to find similar companies or competitors. Learn more here.

  5. Company Tagging

    • Enhance your results by tagging the company you’re referencing. This helps the AI Search Agent pinpoint accurate competitors or similar companies.
