Where does your signals come from?
Strategic Signals is our proprietary strategy built atop our Investor Database, delivering a carefully curated feed of high-potential companies and founders who are growing rapidly and likely seeking capital. These insights stem from an extensive network of over 50,000 investors across 7,000 funds, as well as influential journalists and insiders.
How do you grow your coverage of sources?
Our coverage grows through a combination of client requests and our own internal strategic efforts. Since continuously monitoring every possible source can be resource-intensive, we focus first on the ones our clients rely on most. If you notice that some tracked sources aren’t producing as many signals as you’d expect, it could be because we’re not yet monitoring their full scope. In such cases, we encourage you to request coverage for specific funds or ask us to enhance tracking on certain sources.
Here’s how it works:
• Signal Detection: We track these sources across various social media platforms, studying their online interactions—such as LinkedIn connections and Twitter follows—to surface potential investment signals.
• AI Analysis: Our proprietary AI then evaluates each interaction by factoring in both the source (e.g., partner, analyst) and the nature of the interaction itself.
• Curated Feed: Lastly, we distill the data to focus on the most significant 0.1% of daily interactions, ensuring you only receive the most relevant, actionable insights. This curated feed is delivered on a weekly basis, perfectly aligned with your Monday-to-Friday routine.
Do you use client activity on Specter to create Strategic Signals?
No, we care deeply about our client’s personal data protection and security and are committed to complying with applicable data privacy laws and regulations.
Can I see signals from specific Investors in a fund?
No. We’ve chosen to share signals at the fund level—rather than at the individual level—as part of our proprietary strategy. While maintaining this competitive advantage, we also prioritise respecting individuals’ privacy. That said, our platform’s detailed filtering options (e.g., by sector or geography) still let you uncover the opportunities you need at the fund level. There is an exception for Notable Individuals (like Jeff Bezos), Insiders, and Angel Investors, where certain signals remain visible.
