Strategic Signals
Specter tracks the online and social behaviour of leading investors and industry insiders. We are the only ones in the market to predict future funding rounds, mergers and acquisitions, and partnerships.
How This Works
It's important to note that this feed is not aimed at sharing social graphing 'noise', but rather honing in on only the most actionable signals. We narrow down the signals chosen to be featured on the platform each week as follows:
We first look at the source of the interaction, and who specifically is showing 'interest' in the given founder/company profile on social platforms. We feature and score the indicated interest depending on the position and seniority of the individual generating the signal. See below for the full range personas we track.
Then, we observe the kind of interaction taking place. For instance, a LinkedIn 'connection' is classed as a much stronger indicator of actionable interest than a 'clap' on Medium or a 'follow' on Twitter.
Additionally, we take into consideration everything we know of said person or company. From the performance metrics we track on Company Signals to the career movements and background of individuals seen through Talent Signals, we use these factors to understand whether the signalled 'interest' in their profile is truly indicative of an potential upcoming funding round and likely increase in valuation.
If in addition to the above criteria, the founder or company in question hasn't already raised funding recently, then they would be a prime candidate to be featured in the Strategic Signals feed.
