How is Specter different from other data providers?

There is no other provider that offers anything remotely close to Strategic Signals.

Where does your data come from?

Specter gathers data from many public web sources. We care about personal data protection and security and are committed to complying with applicable data privacy laws and regulations.

Who uses Strategic Signals?

Early-stage investors use Strategic Signals to identify newly launched companies and founders gaining interest from top-tier investors. Growth-stage and PE investors utilise Strategic Signals to track companies engaging with their competitors. Corporates use Strategic Signals to stay ahead of market trends and predict M&A activity.

How can I use Strategic Signals?

Most of our clients use our user-friendly web application. It allows them to conduct deep dives, create advanced saved searches and alerts, and fully utilise Strategic Signals. We also offer safe programmatic deliveries (through an API or secure cloud storage).

How often is data updated?

Specter gathers Strategic Signals in real-time; no talent signal is older than 5 days.

Can I see signals from specific Investors in a fund?

No, we prioritise respecting individuals' privacy, so signals are available at the fund level rather than for specific investors. However, our platform provides detailed filtering options that allow you to identify funds based on sector or geographic focus, which often aligns with the insights investors are seeking about individuals. This ensures you can still find relevant opportunities without needing individual-level data. There is an exception for Notable Individuals (e.g Jeff Bezos), Insiders & Angel Investors.

Do you use client activity on Specter to create Strategic Signals?

No, we care deeply about our client’s personal data protection and security and are committed to complying with applicable data privacy laws and regulations.

Strategic Signals are only formulated using publicly available sources. Specter tracks the online and social behaviour of leading investors and industry insiders to predict future funding rounds, mergers and acquisitions, and partnerships.
