Merging Accounts and Resolving Access Issues

If you’ve created a new account but your old account remains active or enrolled in a pool, you might face access errors. In this case: Splash does not support merging two accounts or picks into one due to system limitations. Users can instead consolidate entries to one account as needed.

  1. Contact Support for Account Merging: Request to merge the two accounts.

  2. Primary Email Assignment: Your personal email from the new account will become the primary email.

  3. Preserve Your Records: This ensures access to all previous activity, including pool enrollments.

Transferring Information Between Accounts

If you’ve created a new Splash account with the correct email address and need to transfer your information from an old account:

  1. Create Your New Account: Sign up with the correct email address.

  2. Contact Support: Notify Splash support about your new account email.

  3. Transfer Process: The engineering team will transfer your data from the old account to the new one and delete the old account as part of the process. If you need to transfer entries between accounts in an active pool, the following steps are available for commissioners and users.

When a user requests to close or delete their Splash Sports account, certain steps are taken to comply with legal requirements and protect the platform from potential fraudulent activity.

Specific user data may be kept for a limited period of time post-deletion as required by legal compliance.

Retention of User Data

After a deletion request, Splash Sports may retain specific user data for a limited period of time. This is done in accordance with applicable state and federal laws and as a protective measure for both users and the company.

  • The retained data may include information relevant to legal compliance, fraud prevention, or other operational needs.

  • This process ensures that malicious or fraudulent behavior cannot be hidden by simply deleting an account.

Anonymization and Encryption

Any data that is retained after account deletion may be:

  • Anonymized (so it can no longer be linked back to the individual), or

  • Encrypted and stored securely in a way that separates it from active user databases.

Storage and Security

Retained data is kept in secure archives that are distinct from live production environments. These archives are designed to ensure the security and integrity of user information.

For further information, please consult the Splash Privacy Policy.

User Communication and Transparency

Users who inquire about account deletion should be informed that:

  • Their data may be stored temporarily for legal or security reasons.

  • Their privacy is still respected, and any stored information is either anonymized or encrypted.

  • They can find additional information in the Splash Sports Privacy Policy or reach out to support for further clarification.

What happens to permanently deleted accounts?

Once a paid Splash account is permanently deleted, it cannot be recreated using the same email or personal details to maintain data integrity and prevent duplicate accounts under identical details.

Is deactivating my account the same as deleting it?

"Deactivating" refers to making your account inactive, whereas "deleting" permanently removes all data associated with the account, subject to applicable data retention policies.

What if I cannot find my account for deletion?

Double-check that you are using the correct email address associated with your Splash Sports account. If issues persist, contact Splash Support directly for help.

Can I permanently delete an account that was created fraudulently?

Fraudulent accounts may require direct intervention from Splash Support, who can assist in removing such accounts securely.
