Commissioners who run real-money contests on Splash Sports earn a 5% reward from the rake on each eligible contest. Here's how it works, when you get paid, and what to expect for taxes.
How Commissioner Rewards Work
When you run a real-money contest on Splash, you earn 5% of the rake — the platform fee collected from entry fees. The more players in your contest and the higher the entry fee, the more you earn.
Commissioner rewards are paid to your Splash wallet and can be withdrawn like any other funds.
When Are Rewards Paid?
Commissioner rewards are paid out on the Monday after the contest locks (i.e., after the final event in your contest concludes). For season-long contests, this is after the last game of the season.
Which Contests Are Eligible?
Commissioner rewards apply to real-money contests where Splash handles entry fee collection and payouts. They do not apply to self-managed (Entertainment-Only) contests where you collect fees independently.
How to Withdraw Your Rewards
Your rewards are added to your Splash wallet balance. To withdraw:
Log in at app.splashsports.com in a web browser
Click your wallet balance → Withdraw
Choose your linked payment method and confirm
See Withdrawals on Splash Sports for full details on methods and timelines.
Taxes on Commissioner Rewards
If your total commissioner rewards reach $600 or more in a calendar year, Splash Sports will issue you a 1099-MISC tax form. This is in addition to any 1099 you may receive as a contest player. See Splash Sports Tax Policies & 1099-MISC Form for more.
Common Questions
I don't see my reward in my wallet. Rewards are paid the Monday after the contest locks. If it's been more than a few days after that, email support@splashsports.com with your contest name and we'll look into it.
Do I earn rewards on Entertainment-Only contests? No — commissioner rewards only apply to real-money contests where Splash collects the entry fees.
Is there a minimum to earn rewards? There's no minimum — rewards are calculated as 5% of the rake for every eligible contest you run.
