How Do Payouts Work in PGA Contests? ⛳

How payouts work in Splash-managed PGA contests — when winners get paid, payout structures, how ties are handled, and how to withdraw your winnings.

Updated today

In Splash-managed PGA contests, Splash handles all entry fee collection and prize payouts automatically — no waiting on a commissioner to sort out who gets paid. Here's how it works.

When Are Payouts Made?

Payouts are processed automatically once the contest concludes. For season-long contests, this happens after the final tournament in the schedule is completed and results are official. For single-tournament contests, payouts process shortly after the final round scores are confirmed.

Winnings are deposited directly into your Splash Sports wallet. You'll receive a notification when your payout has been processed.

Payout Structures

The commissioner sets the payout structure when creating the contest. Common options include:

  • Winner Takes All — The top entry at the end of the contest wins the entire prize pool

  • Top X Places — Prizes are distributed across multiple finishing positions (e.g., 1st, 2nd, 3rd)

  • Tournament Payouts — Prizes are awarded after each individual tournament, either alongside or in place of a season-long prize

  • Segment Payouts — Prizes are distributed at the end of each defined segment (e.g., Majors only, first half of season), with a separate prize for the overall winner

You can view your contest's specific payout structure at any time in the Rules section of your contest.

How Are Ties Handled?

If two or more entries finish with the same score, Splash combines the prize amounts for those positions and splits them evenly among all tied entries. For example, if two entries tie for 1st place and the prizes for 1st and 2nd are $500 and $300, each tied entry would receive $400.

How to Withdraw Your Winnings

Once your payout lands in your Splash wallet, you can withdraw it at any time:

  1. Log in at app.splashsports.com in a web browser

  2. Click your wallet balance in the top navigation

  3. Select Withdraw

  4. Choose your linked payment method and confirm the amount

Withdrawal processing times vary by method. See Withdrawals on Splash Sports for full details.

Tax Reporting

If your total winnings from Splash Sports contests reach $600 or more in a calendar year, Splash will issue you a 1099-MISC tax form. See Splash Sports Tax Policies & 1099-MISC Form for more information.
