How Group Matching Works in QuickPicks

How you get matched in QuickPicks

Updated over a week ago

Thank you for reaching out! If you're wondering how entrants are grouped in QuickPicks, here’s what you need to know:

👥 How Are Entrants Matched?

In QuickPicks, entrants are matched into groups based on:

  • The number of picks in their entry

  • Their entry fee- For example, a player who opts for three picks at a $2 entry fee will be matched with others who selected the same criteria

Once those two factors align, players are matched automatically—even if some players' picks are from earlier or later games within the slate. After matching is completed and all entries in a group have finished playing, scores are calculated, standings are updated on the group standings page, and the highest-scoring participant receives their payout.

⏳ When Does Matching Happen?

  • Matching may happen immediately if a group is available

  • Each QuickPick contest operates within a 24 - 48-hour matching window.

  • Matching can take longer if your contest, group has not filled. Contests are dependent on the entry fee, sports season, picks and etc.

  • Voided entries can be found under the 'Final' tab in your QuickPicks dashboard, labeled as "No match found"

  • Your entire entry fee is automatically refunded for voided entries—no action needed

🕹 Why Do Some Picks Start or Finish at Different Times? 📊 What Factors Contribute to Matching Delays?- Group Size: Larger contests requiring many entrants take longer to fill

  • Props Played: The number or type of props you select can influence matching times

  • Schedule of Players Selected: Picks from later slates or games may delay the filling process

  • Entry Requirements: Matching depends on alignment of group size, entry fee, and selections

Since entries can include players or teams from different times within the same slate, it's possible your opponents’ picks may be:

  • Already scoring or completed, or

  • Yet to begin while yours are still pending

This is part of how QuickPicks functions to ensure fairness across a wide variety of entry combinations. Even if you're matched with an opponent whose picks have already scored perfectly, the competition isn't over—you still have a chance to outperform them when all your games are completed.

💡 What to Expect Going Forward

QuickPicks is a new and growing product. As more users join and new sports are added, these scenarios will become less frequent, and group matching will become even more seamless. 🏆 What Happens Once a Group is Matched?

Once matching is finalized, all players in a group compete based on their respective entries. Scores are calculated after all games are completed, standings are updated, and payouts are processed for the highest-scoring participant. This ensures a transparent and fair competitive environment for all participants.
