When a Contest is Cancelled Due to Low Entries (Automatically)

Updated over 3 months ago

Purpose:

To explain when a contest is cancelled due to an insufficient number of participants compared to available payout spots.

Step-by-Step Instructions:

  1. Check if the Contest is Resizable
Confirm whether the contest is marked as resizeable. Only resizeable contests follow the cancellation rule based on entry count versus payout spots.

  2. Determine the Number of Payout Spots
Identify how many payout spots are available in the contest. This number is crucial for deciding if the contest will proceed.

  3. Monitor the Number of Entries
Keep track of how many participants have joined the contest before the start time.

  4. Compare Entries to Payout Spots

    • If the number of entries is less than the number of payout spots, the contest will be cancelled.

    • If the number of entries is equal to or more than the number of payout spots, the contest will run.

  5. Example Scenario

    • Contest has 3 payout spots.

    • Only 2 participants joined.

    • Because 2 < 3, the contest is cancelled.
