Entry Lives determine how many losses an entrant can have before being eliminated from a Survivor contest. Here's a quick guide on how they work and when they can be edited.
What Are Entry Lives?
Entry Lives, also known as mulligans, allow participants to continue in a contest even after making incorrect picks. Each participant starts with a set number of lives, and one life is lost for each incorrect pick. If a participant has remaining lives, they are automatically revived and can continue until they run out of lives or the contest ends. The initial entry counts as one life.
Here is how various entry lives settings would be impacted by an incorrect pick:
1 Life — eliminated after the first loss (standard Survivor)
2 Lives — can sustain one loss before elimination
3+ Lives — progressively more forgiving (Note: there is a maximum number of 5 lives in some formats)
Entry Lives are set by the commissioner when creating the contest. Once configured, participants are automatically tracked per entry — each entry has its own lives.
When Can Entry Lives Be Edited?
No entries yet: Fully editable at any time
Entries submitted, before contest start: Editable up until 48 hours before the first game (24 hours for Daily Survivor)
After contest start: Locked — not editable
Self-managed contests: Same rules as paid contests
This locking mechanism ensures fairness and consistency across all participants.
⚠️ Note: If Buybacks are enabled, Entry Lives will be automatically locked at 1. This is intentional — enabling Buybacks and multiple lives simultaneously could create conflicting settings that break the contest. To use more than 1 life, turn Buybacks off first.
Where to Edit Entry Lives
Go to the Commissioner tab
Select Active and click Manage on the contest
Go to Contest Settings
Navigate to the Entry Lives setting and adjust as needed
Issuing Revivals in Self-Managed Contests
To revive a participant’s entry:
Go to the Commissioner tab.
Click 'Manage' on the contest.
Open the Entrants Manager and select the Revivals tab.
Click 'Revive' next to the entry you want to restore. Note that revivals can only be issued after the week is over.### Golf Pick X Contests Mulligans are not available in Golf Pick X contests. If a golfer withdraws, the commissioner can edit entrants’ picks, but no mulligans can be issued.
