Overview
Contest Revival is a setting available in the Knockout Stage Only template that prevents a contest from ending prematurely if all remaining entries happen to be eliminated in the same round. When enabled, the contest automatically continues rather than ending with no winner.
How It Works
If all remaining alive entries are eliminated in the same round — meaning everyone picked wrong — the contest is automatically revived and all of those entries are reinstated to continue in the next round.
This prevents a situation where the contest ends without a clear winner simply because every remaining entrant had a bad round.
How Is This Different From Entry Revivals (Buybacks)?
Entry Revivals (Buybacks) — An individual entrant pays a fee to re-enter after being eliminated. Triggered by the entrant voluntarily.
Contest Revival — The entire contest is revived automatically when all remaining entries are eliminated at once. No fee is involved and no action is required by entrants.
Is Contest Revival Enabled in My Contest?
Contest Revival is an optional setting that is off by default. The commissioner must have enabled it when setting up the contest. Check your contest's settings or rules page to confirm whether it applies.
