Splash: Combine Days 7 & 8 Option: What You Need to Know

We’ve added a new feature that gives commissioners more flexibility during the later stages of the NCAAB tournament: the Combine Days 7 & 8 option. Below is everything you need to know about how it works and when it’s available.

Updated over 3 weeks ago

What Is the Combine Days 7 & 8 Option?

The Combine Days 7 & 8 option allows commissioners to merge the Round of 8 (Days 7 and 8) into a single slate.

When this option is enabled, entrants are required to make two total picks across Days 7 and 8, but they can choose how to use those picks:

  • One team from Day 7 and one team from Day 8

  • Both teams from Day 7

  • Both teams from Day 8

This added flexibility gives entrants more control over their strategy during this stage of the tournament.

What Entrants Will See

When Days 7 & 8 are combined:

  • All four games played across Days 7 and 8 will appear on one picksheet

  • Entrants will submit their picks from this single slate

  • To advance to Day 9, entrants must make correct pick(s) across both days

Availability by Contest Format

It’s important to note that this option is format-specific:

  • Available in: Pick-By-Day contests

  • Not available in: Pick-By-Round contests

The Combine Days 7 & 8 option is designed specifically for the Pick-By-Day format and cannot be enabled when creating a Pick-By-Round contest.

Where to Find This Option

Commissioners can enable or disable the Combine Days 7 & 8 option during the contest creation flow. The toggle appears directly below the schedule selection and is turned off by default.
