Flexible Entry Deadlines Only Apply to the First Slate
Flexible Entry Deadlines are designed specifically for contests that begin with the first slate of the tournament.
When a contest starts after the first slate:
The entry deadline is automatically set to the start time of that slate
The deadline cannot be adjusted during the contest creation flow
This ensures all entries lock before games begin for that slate.
Why the Entry Deadline Is Locked for Later-Starting Contests
Once the tournament is underway, each slate has a fixed start time. Allowing flexible entry deadlines for later slates could result in:
Entries being submitted after games have already started
Inconsistent pick availability across entrants
Unfair competitive advantages
To prevent these issues, contests that start after the first slate automatically lock at the earliest game time of the selected slate.
Is This a Bug?
No. If you don’t see the flexible entry deadline option when starting after the first slate, your contest is working as intended.
The option is only available when:
The contest begins with the first slate
You are creating a Pick-By-Day or Pick-By-Round contest that includes that slate
