Editing Rules for Splash-Managed NCAAB Survivor Contests

Before launching your contest, it’s important to understand which settings can be edited — and when. Splash-managed Survivor contests have structured editing safeguards to protect contest integrity once participants begin entering.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

General Editing Window

All contest settings can be edited up until 24 hours before the first game of the contest starts, with two exceptions:

  • Pick Objective cannot be changed

  • Combining Days 7 & 8 cannot be changed

After the contest begins (once the first game tips off), no settings can be edited.

This ensures fairness for all entrants.

Double Picks Rule

Double Picks follow a special editing rule:

  • The first slate can only be added

  • It cannot be removed

This prevents structural changes that would impact early-round eliminations after participants have already planned their strategy.

Entry Deadline Editing Rules

The Entry Deadline has its own specific guidelines.

Pushing the Deadline Back

The entry deadline can be extended up until the current deadline passes.

Example:

  • If your entry deadline is Thursday at 12:15 PM ET

  • You may edit it anytime before Thursday at 12:15 PM ET

  • However, you can only move it to a later time

You cannot shorten it after the original deadline has passed.

Moving the Deadline Earlier

If you want to move the entry deadline to an earlier time:

  • You must make the change at least 24 hours in advance

Example:

  • Current deadline: Thursday at 10:00 PM ET

  • You want to move it to Thursday at 12:15 PM ET

  • You must make that change by Wednesday at 12:15 PM ET

If you attempt to move it earlier inside the 24-hour window, the system will prevent the change.

Why These Rules Exist

These safeguards protect:

  • Entrants who have already joined

  • Fairness in entry access

  • Contest structure integrity

  • Elimination logic and buyback timing

  • Strategic settings like Double Picks

Once picks and payments are involved, structural changes could impact outcomes. These rules ensure consistency for everyone.
