Splash: NCAAB Why Is My Contest Showing on Entertainment Only Instead of Splash?

If you previously ran a contest on Splash and are now seeing it appear on Entertainment Only, this is expected behavior for self-managed contests.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Self-Managed vs. Splash-Managed Contests

When creating a new contest, you’ll choose between two management types:

Self-Managed Contests

  • Appear on the Entertainment Only platform

  • You are responsible for managing payouts offline

  • Splash does not handle payments or prize distribution

  • Intended for contests that do not require Splash payment processing

If you select self-managed, your contest will automatically appear on Entertainment Only, not Splash.

Splash-Managed Contests

  • Appear directly on Splash

  • Splash manages entry fees and payouts

  • Designed for contests using Splash’s payment and prize infrastructure

Only contests created as Splash-managed will appear on the Splash platform.

Why Am I Seeing This If I Ran on Splash Last Year?

If your contest is now appearing on Entertainment Only, it means the current version was created as self-managed during setup and will utilize the Entertainment Only platform going forward.

What If I Selected the Wrong Option?

If the contest has not started, you may need to:

  • Recreate the contest under the correct management type, or

  • Contact Support for guidance before launching

If you’re unsure which option is right for you, reach out with your contest name, and we’ll help you confirm the best setup.
