Self-Managed vs. Splash-Managed Contests
When creating a new contest, you’ll choose between two management types:
Self-Managed Contests
Appear on the Entertainment Only platform
You are responsible for managing payouts offline
Splash does not handle payments or prize distribution
Intended for contests that do not require Splash payment processing
If you select self-managed, your contest will automatically appear on Entertainment Only, not Splash.
Splash-Managed Contests
Appear directly on Splash
Splash manages entry fees and payouts
Designed for contests using Splash’s payment and prize infrastructure
Only contests created as Splash-managed will appear on the Splash platform.
Why Am I Seeing This If I Ran on Splash Last Year?
If your contest is now appearing on Entertainment Only, it means the current version was created as self-managed during setup and will utilize the Entertainment Only platform going forward.
What If I Selected the Wrong Option?
If the contest has not started, you may need to:
Recreate the contest under the correct management type, or
Contact Support for guidance before launching
If you’re unsure which option is right for you, reach out with your contest name, and we’ll help you confirm the best setup.
