NFL Survivor During the Playoffs β€” Team Reuse, Settings & Extending Your Contest 🏈

How NFL Survivor contests work during the playoffs β€” whether teams reset, how team use limits work, how to extend a regular season contest into the postseason, and what settings can be changed.

If your NFL Survivor contest is still running as the playoffs begin, there are a few important things to understand about how the postseason works β€” from team availability to settings locks.

Do Teams Reset for the Playoffs?

It depends on how your contest is configured. When the NFL playoffs begin, Splash will show the 14 remaining playoff teams β€” but whether your entries can pick those teams again depends on your Team Use Limit setting:

  • Once β€” Teams used during the regular season are still unavailable. Entries must pick from teams they haven't used yet.

  • Twice β€” Teams can be used a second time in the postseason.

  • Unlimited β€” All 14 playoff teams are available to everyone regardless of prior picks.

If you want all teams to be available during the playoffs, your Team Use Limit needs to be set to Unlimited (or a higher number than the times entries have already used any team).

Can I Change the Team Use Limit for the Playoffs?

This setting locks once picks have been submitted by entries, which means you typically cannot change it yourself mid-contest through the Commissioner settings page. If you try to access the Team Use setting and see a blank page or locked fields, this is expected.

My Regular Season Contest Didn't Include the Playoffs β€” Can I Extend It?

If your contest was only configured to run through Week 18 (regular season), it won't automatically continue into the playoffs. Splash cannot extend your contest schedule to include postseason weeks.

Commissioners Who Are Eliminated Can Still Manage the Contest

If your own entry was eliminated during the regular season, you can still access and manage the contest as commissioner. Go to the Commissioner tab β†’ Active β†’ find your contest. Your entry being in the Final tab doesn't mean the contest itself is over β€” the contest stays active until all entries are resolved.
