Overview
In World Cup Survivor, each team can only be used a limited number of times across the entire contest — including both the Group Stage and Knockout Stage. If you exhaust all of your eligible teams, your entry is eliminated.
What Happens When I Run Out of Eligible Teams?
If you have no remaining teams available to pick in a given round, your entry is automatically eliminated. This is treated the same as making an incorrect pick — there is no exception made for running out of options.
If your contest has multiple lives enabled, running out of eligible teams will cost you a life the same as a wrong pick would.
Why Does This Happen?
The most common reason is the team use limit. Depending on your contest settings, each team can be picked once, twice, or unlimited times. If the limit is set to "Once" and you've already used a team in the Group Stage, that team is no longer available in the Knockout Stage.
As the tournament progresses and teams are eliminated, the pool of available teams shrinks. If you've already used all the surviving teams, you'll have no valid pick to make.
How to Avoid Running Out of Teams
Plan your Group Stage picks strategically — avoid using deep-run favorites in Phase 1 if your team use limit is set to "Once." Save strong teams for the later knockout rounds.
Track which teams you've used — your used teams are shown on your pick screen so you always know what's still available.
Spread your picks across teams of varying strength — using only the top favorites early leaves you with fewer options as the field narrows.
Team Use Limit Settings
Your commissioner sets the team use limit when creating the contest. The options are:
Once (Default) — Each team can only be picked one time across the full contest.
Twice — Each team can be picked up to two times.
Unlimited — Teams can be reused as many times as desired.
Check your contest's settings page to confirm which limit applies to your contest.
