Setting up your NFL + NCAAF Team Survivor contest: Pick Format tab

The Pick Format tab controls how team picks are scored, pick direction, picks per slate, and multi-pick rules.

Score type

Choose how team picks are scored for this contest. There are three options:

  • Straight up — Entrants pick teams they think will win outright.

  • Against the spread (Splash-set) — Entrants pick teams they think will cover the point spread, using spreads set automatically by Splash.

  • Against the spread (Commissioner-set) — Entrants pick teams they think will cover the point spread, using spreads the commissioner sets manually.

Pick mode

Choose whether entrants pick winners or losers.

  • Pick direction:

    • Pick winner — Entrants pick the team they expect to win each game.

    • Pick loser — Entrants pick the team they expect to lose each game.

Picks per slate

Set how many picks each entry must make per slate. Use 1 for classic single-pick survivor.

  • Every slate in the contest (CFB Week 1 through NFL Week 18) gets its own required-picks field, defaulting to 1.

  • Allowed range: 1–20 picks per slate.

Additional settings

  • Bye Pick — Off by default. Give each member one optional bye per season. The member deliberately applies it to a specific slate to advance without submitting a pick.

  • Picks in advance — On by default. Allow members to submit picks for future slates. Useful for planning around travel/team limits.
