Setting up your NFL + NCAAF Pick'em contest: General tab

After choosing your sport and format — NFL + NCAAF Pick'em or NFL + NCAAF Confidence Pick'em — you'll land on the Contest Settings page, starting with the General tab. This is where you set your contest name, schedule, and entry controls.

General settings

  • Contest name — Name your contest so members can easily identify it. Splash auto-generates a default name (e.g. "NFL_NCAAF Team Pickem contest - 2026-07-...") that you can edit.

  • Description — Optional. Add context for your members about the contest (up to 500 characters).

Set your schedule

Define the first and last week of your contest.

  • Start week — Choose the week your contest begins (e.g. CFB Week 1, Aug 31, 2026 – Sep 7, 2026).

  • End week — Choose the week your contest ends (e.g. NFL Week 18, Jan 4, 2027 – Jan 11, 2027).

Since this is a combined NFL + NCAAF contest, weeks are labeled using both leagues' schedules.

Slate names

Choose how each slate (week) is labeled throughout the contest, since NFL and college football weeks don't always line up. You can choose whether its NFL/College, NFL or College

  • Select a naming convention from the dropdown (e.g. "NFL/College").

  • A preview shows how your slates will be labeled — for example:

    • CFB Week 1

    • NFL Week 1 | CFB Week 2

    • ...

  • Tap See all to view the full list of slate labels for your contest's full schedule.

Entry controls

Manage how and when members can join, and how many entries they can submit.

  • Maximum entries per entrant — Set how many entries a single member can submit (1–250).

  • Entry deadline — Off by default, meaning entries close automatically at the standard deadline. Turn this on to set a custom date and time for entries to close.

  • Lock entries immediately — Stops new members from joining right away, regardless of the entry deadline. Useful if you want to close entries early.

  • Hide Future Picks From Commissioner — Controls whether the commissioner can see and edit members' future picks. Toggle on to keep future picks hidden from the commissioner (shown enabled by default in the screenshot).
