What Happens When a Seller Counters My Entry Marketplace Offer?

If you make an offer to purchase a share of an entry, the seller may choose to send you a counteroffer instead of accepting your original offer.

You can review a counteroffer by going to:

  1. Entry Marketplace

  2. Offers

  3. Buying

  4. Select the offer marked Countered

  5. Open Offer detail

The counteroffer details will show the new terms proposed by the seller, including:

• Offer price
• Share percentage
• Whether pick control transfers to you
• When the counteroffer expires

You can also review information about the entry, including its estimated value and the seller's current ownership.

How can I respond to a counteroffer?

Once you receive a counteroffer, you can choose from the available options shown on the Offer detail screen.

Accept counter

Select Accept counter if you agree to the seller's new terms.

Before accepting, carefully review the price, share percentage, pick control, and expiration.

Reject counter

Select Reject counter if you do not want to accept the terms proposed by the seller.

Will I get pick control if I accept?

It depends on the ownership being purchased.

The Offer detail screen tells you what will happen to pick control if the transaction is completed.

For example, if you see Transfers to you, accepting the counteroffer will result in pick control transferring to you.

Always review the Pick control field before accepting an offer or counteroffer.

Do counteroffers expire?

Yes. The Offer detail screen displays the specific date and time when the counteroffer expires.

If you want to accept the counteroffer, you must do so while it is still available.
