QuickPicks: Player Does Not Play (DNP)

Learn what DNP means, which players qualify, and how a DNP affects your QuickPicks entry.

An entrant's chosen player may be classified and scored as "Does Not Play" or "DNP" if:

  • The player is designated as out, injured, suspended or otherwise unavailable for the athletic event by their team or league.

  • The player is available for the athletic event but does not participate in the event (see sport-by-sport thresholds below).

  • The player's athletic event is suspended before completion and scheduled to resume at a later date beyond the end of the QuickPicks contest.

Sport-by-Sport DNP Thresholds

A player is scored as DNP if they are available but record the following:

  • Basketball: 0 minutes played

  • Hockey: 0 minutes played

  • Football: 0 snaps played

  • Baseball: 0 plate appearances (batter must start the game), or 0 innings pitched (for any pitching projection)

  • Golf: 0 holes completed

  • Racing: 0 laps completed

  • Soccer: player does not start the match

How a DNP Affects Your Entry

A DNP does not count as an incorrect pick.

  • Perfect entries: If your entry has no incorrect picks, it still counts as perfect. Your entry is downgraded to reflect the number of remaining valid picks (for example, a 5-pick entry with 1 DNP becomes a 4-pick entry with a downgraded multiplier), and you receive the guaranteed payout for the downgraded entry.

  • Entries that don't go perfect: On the contest leaderboard, a DNP counts as a half point (0.5) when comparing entrants' high scores.

When Is a DNP Entry Refunded?

After a DNP, the entry must retain a minimum of 2 valid picks from at least 2 different teams. If there is only one remaining pick, or the remaining picks are all on the same team, the entry is no longer valid and will be refunded, regardless of whether the selections are correct or incorrect.
