How highlights and reels work

How clips and reels are generated, and where to find yours.

📍 Where to find it: Player profile → Highlights tab, or a game's Highlights tab

🔒 Who can do this: requires highlight reels feature flag; AR is basketball-only; SportsRecruits is basketball-only.

After a game is processed, the SportsVisio app automatically finds the key plays and turns them into clips and reels: no editing required. This article covers where to find them, how to watch them, and how to generate and save your own.

Where to find highlights

Highlights show up in two places:

  • A player profile → the Highlights tab (that player's clips across games).

  • A game's Highlights tab (everything from that one game).

Both show the same sections:

  • Custom Highlight Reels: a rail of reels you built yourself. See Custom and AR reels.

  • Automatic reels: reels SportsVisio made for you, with a sort control and a player filter.

  • Augmented Reality: an AR section, shown only when AR is enabled for you (basketball). See Custom and AR reels.

  • Clips: a grid of individual plays with action filters (a chip per stat type, e.g. a chip per shot or play type), an only-liked toggle, and a sort for newest or oldest.

If you see No highlights found, the game either isn't processed yet, had no video, or was a forfeit.

Watching clips (the vertical player)

Tap any clip to open the highlight player: a TikTok-style vertical feed. Swipe down to see next clip. On each clip you get:

  • The video.

  • A like pill (tap the heart to save it to your Liked Highlights).

  • Share.

  • A three-dot menu with Report, Send to SportsRecruits (basketball only), and playback speed.

When you save a clip, you'll see Saved to your camera roll.

Liking clips

Tap the heart on any clip to like it. Liked clips are gathered in one place and can seed a custom reel. See Liked Highlights.

Generating a per-player game reel

From a player's highlights you can build that player's reel for a game:

  1. Choose the reel option. You'll see Watch Highlight Reel?

  2. The note explains: "The highlight will be generated and stored in the SV cloud." and "This process may require a few minutes."

  3. Tap Yes, see Highlight Reel.

Generate All Highlights

To build everything at once, open the three-dot menu on a player profile and tap Generate All Highlights. The description reads: "Create all your highlights from your last game, including automatic and individual reels." As with any reel, "This process may require a few minutes."

Good to know

  • Reels take a few minutes. Generation happens in the SportsVisio cloud. You don't have to wait on the screen; check back shortly.

  • Saving: use the clip's Share or save action to keep a copy. You'll see Saved to your camera roll.

  • Something look wrong in a clip (wrong player, wrong stat)? Use Report on the clip. See Report a problem.

If you don't see this

Highlight reels are gated by a feature flag and may be off for some users. AR effects and Send to SportsRecruits are basketball-only. If a section is missing, that feature isn't enabled for your account or sport.
