The AI assistant (Ask about this team, player, or division)

Ask a question about a team, player or division in plain language.

📍 Where to find it: stats.sportsvisio.com → open a division, team, or player page → the Ask about… box

On a division, team or player page you'll find an ask box. Ask about this division…, Ask about this team… or Ask about this player… depending on where you are. Type a plain-language question and it answers from SportsVisio's stats for that team or player.

What it can do

Ask the kinds of questions you'd otherwise dig through stats to answer, for example:

  • "How many points is this player averaging?"

  • "What's this team's record and how are they trending?"

  • "Which game was this player's best this season?"

  • "How does this team score most of its points?"

It's an assistant grounded in that page's SportsVisio data: not a general web chatbot. Its answers come from SportsVisio's processed stats, the same numbers you see elsewhere on the site, so they line up with the rest of your program's data.

What it knows, and doesn't

  • It focuses on the entity you're on. The Ask about this player… box is centered on that player; the team box on that team. It's not a league-wide search engine, so keep questions to the team, player or division you're viewing.

  • Comparing two players isn't something to rely on here. The assistant is scoped to the entity whose page you're on. To line up two players side by side, use the Compare feature instead.

  • Unprocessed games aren't included. If a game hasn't finished processing, it has no stats yet, so the assistant can't answer about it. Once the game processes, its numbers become available.

Asking in Spanish

You can ask in Spanish: the assistant understands Spanish questions and will respond.

Privacy, copying and sharing

  • Your questions are your own. What you type isn't shown to other people viewing the same team or player.

  • To share an answer, copy its text and paste it wherever you need it (an email or a message to your team). There's no separate share button for a single answer.

Why it might say it doesn't know

The assistant only answers from the SportsVisio data it has for that team or player. If you ask about something outside that data, a game that hasn't processed, a stat SportsVisio doesn't track, or a team other than the one you're viewing, it will tell you it doesn't have that information rather than guess. Try rephrasing, or open the page for the specific team or player you mean.
