Why can't I see this team, game, or feature?

Plan, role, sport and privacy: the four reasons things are hidden.

📍 Where to find it: Anywhere a team, game, menu item, or button seems to be missing

🔒 Who can do this: requires varies (permission, sport, brand, feature flag, private).

If a team, game, button, or whole menu item seems to be missing, it's almost always one of five things. Work down this list. Each has a different fix.

Note: when you lack permission, items are hidden, not greyed out, so a missing button usually means "not available to your role," not a bug.

1. Your role in that program

Access is per program: you might be an admin in one and a plain viewer in another. Actions like uploading, creating teams, inviting people, or exporting are limited to admins and coaches.

  • If you're a viewer and want to upload, create, invite, or export, you'll need an admin or coach to do it, or to give you that role.

  • See Roles and what they can do to check what your role includes.

2. The sport

The SportsVisio app supports Basketball, Basketball 3x3, and Volleyball, and a few features are basketball-family only:

  • Shot chart, the Awards tab, and advanced team stats (like Four Factors) don't exist for volleyball: volleyball shows its own game summary instead.

  • AR highlight effects and SportsRecruits linking are basketball only.

If you're on a volleyball game and can't find a shot chart or awards, that's expected. It's not missing, it just doesn't apply to that sport.

3. Your app's brand

The SportsVisio app also ships as white-label builds (for example Coalition League and MadeHoops). Screens are shared, but a few actions are turned off on those builds, for example Edit photo on a player profile. If a specific action is unavailable, your brand of the app may not include it.

4. A feature flag

Some SportsVisio-app features (such as custom reels, highlight reels, AR effects, watch-game, share links, and notification preferences) can be switched on or off remotely and may not be enabled for your account yet. If a feature others mention simply isn't there for you, this is often why.

5. It's private

Private teams, leagues, and players are only visible to people who've been given access. If you open one you don't have access to, you'll see This is a private team, This is a private league, or This is a private player, with an option to Contact Operations Team.

Still not sure?

  • In SportsVisio Manager, permission checks can pass through before you've picked a program, showing an empty state, which can feel like "the page flashed then sent me home." Select the correct Program, Season, and Division first, then try again.

  • Confirm you're in the right app for what you want. See Which app do I use?.

  • If none of the above fits, contact customersuccess@sportsvisio.com.
