How can friends and family send money to my child’s Spriggy card?

Everything you need to know about inviting close family and friends to contribute to your child's Spriggy card via Spriggy Me

Updated over a week ago

Spriggy Me is an easy way for friends and family can send money to your child’s Spriggy prepaid Visa card. Once the Primary Parent (the parent who set up the Spriggy membership) shares their child’s Spriggy Me link, family or friends can transfer money straight to your child’s Spriggy card and even leave a personalised message. It’s great for birthdays, holidays and special occasions.

First things first, make sure you’re using the latest version of the Spriggy app. Updates for iOS and Android can be found here.

To share your child’s Spriggy Me link:

  1. Log in to Spriggy using your parent login.

  2. Go to your child’s profile whose Spriggy Me link you want to share.

  3. Tap ‘Card Balance and then tap ‘Request’ which has a ‘$’ icon.

  4. Tap ‘Share [your child’s name] Link’ or press and hold the URL to copy and share your child’s link.

A few things to keep in mind when using Spriggy Me:

  • Only the Primary Parent can share your child’s Spriggy Me link.

  • Friends and family can only use an Australian-issued VISA or Mastercard debit card to send money.

  • It can take up to 10 minutes for money to arrive on a child’s Spriggy card via Spriggy Me.

  • Contributions that take your child’s Spriggy card balance over $999 will fail, because their Spriggy card has a total balance limit of $999.

  • The total contribution can’t exceed $499 within 24 hours. Anything above $499 within the 24 hour limit will fail.

If you want to invite close family to contribute beyond one-off payments, look at this guide which covers our Family Groups feature.
