Who is an Additional Parent on Spriggy?

Everything you need to know about Spriggy Family Groups and how to add a parent to your Spriggy membership.

Updated over 4 months ago

Spriggy Family Groups let added family members (we call them Additional Parents) contribute to a child’s Spriggy prepaid Visa card. This makes it easier for parents to manage money together on Spriggy.

Who is an Additional Parent?

  • A partner, family member or even a close friend who is added by a Primary Parent to help manage money, jobs and savings with their kids.

What Additional Parents can do:

  • Have their own Parent Login and separate Parent Wallet.

  • Contribute to a child’s Spriggy card.

  • See a child’s savings and transactions.

  • Set up jobs and goals.

An Additional Parent can get access* to:

  • View and approve jobs set by the Primary Parent.

  • View Pocket Money payments set up by the Primary Parent. (Coming soon)

  • Receive spend notifications when a child uses their Spriggy card.

*The Primary Parent will need to allow access via their Spriggy app.

What Additional Parents cannot do:

  • Access money once it’s been transferred to a child’s savings, goals or Spriggy card.

  • Set or reset the Child Login.

  • Order a replacement card for the child.

  • Set or reset the Child card PIN.

  • Lock or unlock the Child’s card.

  • Edit jobs or goals set up by the Primary Parent.

  • Access the Primary Parent’s bank account details, passwords or payment methods.

There are no additional fees associated with adding an Additional Parent, and a Primary Parent can remove an Additional Parent’s access at any time. Remember, the Primary Parent is responsible for all fees and charges related to the Parent Wallet and Spriggy card.

How to add an Additional Parent:

1. Go to your settings in the Parent Login
2. Tap 'Add a parent'
3. Select the child whose account you’d like to share, then ‘Invite from contacts’.
4. Tap ‘Invite’ next to the Additional Parent’s contact details.
5. Tap ‘Send’ via messenger to share the link for them to join.

More information about Additional Parents and Family Groups can be found in the PDS and Product Terms and Conditions at www.spriggy.com.au/terms.
