We created Spriggy to help kids learn how to earn, save and spend responsibly and safely. Merchant restrictions help to prevent kids from spending in places where they shouldn’t. Other restricted categories which we reasonably consider are inappropriate uses of the Prepaid Cards may be added at any time without notice.
Sometimes this may mean that payments could be declined at places like the local corner store if they also sell alcohol and cigarettes. It depends on how a merchant has listed themselves.
The European Union has recently introduced restrictions on prepaid cards which might affect your kids if they’re using their Spriggy cards abroad.
Merchants including overseas and online gaming companies could also limit transactions. We recommend that you check with the merchant if your child’s purchase was rejected.
