Learn about pre-authorisations and how they affect your Spriggy Card balance.

Updated over 2 years ago

When your kids make an online purchase, the merchant may charge a pre-authorisation fee (usually less than $1.00) to test that your card is working.

Pre-authorisation fees can temporarily lower your card balance, but they’re almost always refunded within a week and will eventually disappear from your transactions.

If you’re linking a Spriggy prepaid card to an online service, you might want to consider keeping the card balance above $1.00 to cover any pre-authorisation fees.
