In your Information Request, for each metric, you can ask for monthly, quarterly, or yearly data, depending on the reporting period:

  • Yearly reports allow all three options

  • Quarterly and semi-annual reports allow monthly or quarterly data

  • Monthly reports only allow monthly data

Different types of data points are requested based on the metric's time interval:

  • Cumulative metrics with quarterly or yearly granularity will request totals, not averages,

  • Point-in-time metrics will request data for the last day of the quarter or year.

Here’s how companies will see metrics with different time granularities in the Investor Report on their end:

FAQ

Can I specify time granularity for my Custom metrics?

Yes, you can select the time granularity for both standard and custom metrics at the ‘global’ level.

Can I specify time granularity for my company-specific metrics?

Currently, it's not possible to select the time granularity for company-specific metrics, but this feature will be available soon.

Can I specify time granularity for text or select metrics?

Yes, you can choose time granularity for any kind of metric:

  • Numeric metric: whole number, decimal number, percentage, or money.

  • Text metric. For example, you can request key milestones from your companies for each quarter of the year.

  • Select metric. For example, you can ask companies to specify funding rounds for each quarter of the year, allowing you to see exactly when they raised money.

Can I change time granularity for metrics after an Information Request has already been created?

Yes, if the Information Request is still in ‘Draft’ status, meaning it hasn’t been sent to any company yet, you can still update the time granularity. To do so, simply click ‘Configure’ on the Information Request page.

Can I change time granularity for metrics after an Information Request has already been sent?

It’s not possible to make changes once the Information Request has been sent to at least one company. At that point, it is no longer in Draft status, and you cannot modify its name, period, document list, metrics list, or the time granularity for the metrics.

If I use Templates for my Information Requests, can I specify time granularity for metrics in them?

Yes, when creating a new Information Request, after selecting a template, you'll see the saved set of metrics. You can then specify the time granularity for each metric.

Currently, you can not save preferred granularities for these metrics in the Template.

If I use Information Requests with a recurring schedule, can I specify time granularity for metrics in them?

Yes, once the Information Request is created, it will remain in ‘Draft’ status, allowing you to change the list of metrics and specify the time granularities for them.

What happens if I accidentally send an Information Request with a standard fiscal year end to a company with an offset one, or vice versa?

We will notify the company of the mismatch on their Investor Report page and recommend that they either contact you or update their fiscal year end in their Settings.

The company will still be able to submit data for this Report. However, if you’ve requested quarterly or yearly data for cumulative metrics, the information will appear on your Information Request page but won’t be reflected in the Metrics tab, as their reporting periods differ from your request.

Here’s a preview of what companies will see:
