Using Alt Text King is pretty straightforward.
Step 1: Create your Alt text template
in the App settings
page
Navigate to the
App settings
page in the Alt Text King app.In the section
Alt text template
, create the alt text using the following tags.
{{ variant }}: Adds variant name only when you are using Variant Image Automator app
{{ product_title }}: Adds product title in the alt text
{{ product_type }}: Adds product type in the alt text
{{ image_name }}: Adds the image name in the alt text
{{ product_vendor }}: Add the product vendor in the alt text.For example, you can set the template as: {{ product_title }}-{{ image_name }}. This will add the product title and image name to the alt text of the product images.
Step 2: Enable Master switch

In the
App settings
page, enable the Master switch button. This will enable the alt text updates and schedule it daily. You can alsoUpdate now
button if you need to update it manually at any time.
Step 3: Add exceptions if you want to exclude certain images from updating alt text
If you want to exclude cetain images from from being updated then you will need to add the alt text pattern in the
Manage Alt text exceptions
section in theApp settings
page.For example, you can add a pattern like "featured". The app will not update the images where "featured" is present in the alt text.
By default, the following patterns are added in exceptions: "featured", "#", "youtube", "vimeo", ".mp4"
You can share feature request for more tags for creating the alt-text.
