You can also download the file from here Sample CSV file.

Step 2: Formatting the product CSV file

For your product CSV file to update the display style correctly, verify that it meets the following criteria:

  • The first line of your product CSV file must contain the column headers, as shown in the sample file above

  • If you use Excel to edit your CSV, please remember to export the file in CSV format

Step 3: Importing CSV to update display styles

  • Navigate to the Swatch King dashboard

  • Click on the Shopify variant section in the side navigation menu.

  • Click on Bulk update options

  • Click on the Import file button and upload the CSV file

  • Click Add file, then select the CSV file you want to import.

After uploading your CSV file, you will receive a confirmation email from StarApps Studio at the email account you used to set up your Shopify store. This email will contain details about how many display styles were updates and any errors, if there are any.

Understanding the CSV file template

Now that you have downloaded the template, you will find the following fields. Adjust them according to your requirements.

  • Option Name are the categories you've created on Shopify. The app organizes products based on these options, and that's why the option names are case-sensitive.

  • Product Page Style Name allows you to choose how you visually present your product options. With a variety of design options in the Design Library, you can customize the appearance to suit your preferences. As shown in the example below, the Color is displayed as a Polaroid Swatch

  • Product Page Swatch Source / Collection Page Swatch Source helps you decide whether you want to use Variant Images, allowing Swatch King to use the product's image as the swatch, or choose Color/Custom Image for custom images or hex colors. You can customize these settings differently for the Product and Collection Pages. In the example below, for Color image source is Second Variant Image, and for Material its Custom Swatch

  • Collection Page Style Name determines how you want to visually present your variants on the collection page. Choose from various designs in the Design Library and customize the look. If you prefer not to display swatches on your collection, simply add the word 'Hidden.'

  • Manual Option Selection will disable the 'Add to Cart' button until the customer actively selects the product option. This prevents the system from defaulting to an unintended variant, reducing the risk of incorrect orders. You can set this feature to 'True' to activate it for an option and 'False' if you don't want to activate it. Learn more about the feature here
