Understanding CSV file template (Click to expand)

Let's understand all the details that should be added to a CSV file to create a group.

  • Group Name is a unique identifier the app uses to organize product groups; assign the same Group Name to products you want in one group. Please note this 'Group Name' is only visible on the app dashboard, and shoppers won't see it.

  • Product Handle in Shopify is a unique identifier for each product. It's a URL-safe version of the product name. For example, if your product URL is https://store.com/products/blue-t-shirt, the handle is blue-t-shirt

    • To fetch product handles for your products, simply export the product details from your store.

  • Product Groups function similarly to Shopify Variants. Like any option created on Shopify, product groups also have an Option Name, which can be such as Color, Material, or Available in, etc

  • Option Value is the characteristics of each product (like Color: Red, Pink or Material: Cotton, Denim) that you want your customers to see.

  • Product Style Name and Collection Style Name determine how you'd like to visually present your groups. The App's Design Library provides many options, allowing you to select the display style that suits your preferences. These design styles are highly customizable. and can be tailored to fit your requirements. Head to your Product page styles or Collection page styles to explore more

In the sample sheet below, you see 'T-shirt' displayed as a Square Swatch on the product page and as a Circular Swatch on the collection page. If you do not want to display a particular option on the collection page, add "Do not show" or "Hidden" in the Collection Style Name.

  • Product Page Swatch Source /Collection Page Swatch Source helps you decide whether you want to use Variant Images, allowing Swatch King to use the product's image as the swatch, or choose Color/Custom Image for custom images or hex colors. You can have differently image source for the Product and Collection Pages. In the example below, for Color ;Product Page Swatch Source is First Variant Image, and Collection Page Swatch Source is Custom Swatch

  • Swatch color code / Image URL allows you to upload swatch images for your variants, you have two options: Hex Code or URL.

    • Hex Code: Enter the desired color's Hex code into the provided field.

    • Uploading via URL: For URL-based uploads, ensure the URL is publicly accessible.
