When you refer a friend to StartPlaying, they get $10 in credit toward their first game. Once they use that credit, you get $10 in credit toward your next game. Both players and Game Masters can earn and use referral credits.
What is my Refer a Friend link?
Your Refer a Friend link is a unique link you can share with friends.
When someone uses your link to create a brand new StartPlaying account, they automatically receive $10 in credit to use toward their first game.
Once they've used their $10 credit, you'll receive $10 in credit too.
How do I refer a friend?
Go to Refer a Friend under Account Settings
Click Copy Referral Link to copy your link directly
Or click the Share on... buttons to generate a referral post for popular social media platforms
There's no limit on how many referrals you can send.
What is the Referral Adventure Link?
In addition to your general Refer a Friend link, each Adventure has its own Referral Adventure Link. This works the same way as the standard referral link — if someone uses it to create a brand new StartPlaying account and plays their first game, they get $10 in credit and you get $10 in credit once they've used theirs.
The Referral Adventure Link is useful for promoting a specific game, since it takes new players directly to that Adventure's listing rather than the StartPlaying homepage.
How to find your Referral Adventure Link:
Go to your Listings page
Click the three dots next to the Adventure you want to share
Click Copy Adventure Link (Referral)
How do I track my referrals?
At the bottom of the Refer a Friend page you can see:
Accounts that have signed up using your referral link
Which accounts have used their $10 credit
When do I receive my $10 credit?
You receive your $10 credit after your friend has used the entirety of their $10 credit on a game.
The credit will appear on your account automatically. You won't receive a notification, but you can check your balance on the Refer a Friend page at any time.
Can I save up referral credits?
Yes. Credits from multiple referrals stack and never expire. Your available credit will automatically apply to your next game at checkout.
Can I cash out my referral credits?
No. Referral credits can only be used to pay for games on StartPlaying. They cannot be transferred to your bank account or card on file.
