StartPlaying will let a player skip a session or leave a campaign up to 24 hours before the next session's start time. But, life happens, and sometimes Players can't give you 24 hours notice.

What can you do as a GM if your Player wants to skip a session or leave your game with less than 24 hours notice?

Do I have to charge my Player if they give less than 24 hours notice?

No, charging your Player if they give you less than 24 hours notice they will be absent or are leaving is at the GM's discretion. You can find more information in our Refund Policy.

How Can I Help My Player Skip a Session/Leave My Game?

More Than 24 Hours to Session Time

If it is more than 24 hours to session time, Players can follow the steps in this FAQ page to skip a session or leave their game: How Do I Skip a Session or Leave a Game?

Less Than 24 Hours to Session Time

Right now, there is no way for a player to skip or leave a game if it is less than 24 to the session's start time. But, as a GM we do have some work arounds:

Player Wants to Leave the Game

If the player wants to leave your game less than 24 hours to the next session time, and you choose not to charge them, you can remove them from your game.

  1. Go to your Listings page

  2. Navigate to the Adventure that Player is in

  3. Under Players, click the 3 dots next to the name of the Player

  4. Click Remove player

  5. Fill out the Remove Player pop-up

  6. Click Remove

You can find more information about how to do this in this FAQ page: How do I Remove a Player from my Game?

Player Wants to Skip a Session

If the player wants to skip a session less than 24 hours to the next session time, and you choose not to charge them, you can temporarily set their price to $0.

  1. Go to your Listings page

  2. Navigate to the Adventure that Player is in

  3. Under Players, click the 3 dots next to the name of the Player

  4. Click Change booking price

  5. Change the Player's price to $0

  6. Click Save

You can find more information about how to do this in this FAQ page: How do I Edit a Player's Price in an Adventure?

If you are temporarily changing the price for the player, remember to CHANGE THE PRICE BACK!

This "Booking Price" trumps all other pricing listed on the site for this player in this specific adventure.
