How pricing works

They say a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single trip request. So, how does the pricing work for all of this? The total price of your Staybnb reservation is based on three factors: the nightly rate and other fees set by the Host, plus a Staybnb platform fee, plus taxes. Some listings also have additional taxes applied.

Host charges

Nightly accommodation rate: This is the nightly rate for the lodging, which can vary based on the season, length of booking, and other factors. (This is why you might see a differently nightly rate in your search results for the same property when you change the dates of your search.)

Cleaning fee: Charged by some Hosts to cover the cost of cleaning their space.

Extra guest fee: Charged by some Hosts for each additional guest beyond a set number.

Pet fee: Some Hosts allow pets, and they might charge an additional fee for this.

Security deposit: Hosts who manage their listings with API-connected software can set a security deposit using our offline fees feature. Learn more about security deposits.

Staybnb fees

Staybnb service fee: Guest service fee charged by Staybnb – this provides 24/7 community support and helps everything run smoothly.

Taxes

Value Added Tax (VAT, JCT and GST): Charged to guests who live in certain countries – find out more about VAT.

Local taxes: Charged based on the location of the Host's place – find out more about local taxes.

More information about taxes

Different countries have different tax rates. So, our fee depends on the location that the reservation is in. In some locations, taxes may include calculations based on a flat rate or percentage rate, number of guests or number of nights.

When you make a reservation in one of these locations, the taxes collected will be displayed automatically when you pay, and they will appear on your receipt once your reservation is confirmed.
