Stora Identity brings next-level automation to self storage businesses. It automatically confirms the identity of your customers, so you can reduce the risk of bad actors moving in and prevent attacks from fraudsters while minimising friction for legitimate customers. It uses the Stripe Identity product. That means you don't need to do anything apart from turn it on in Stora to start using it.

How it Works

Your customers are asked to verify their identity after booking by taking a photo of an ID document and a selfie.

It all happens within your Storefront in a conversion-optimised verification flow, the customer never has to leave your website. If they are on a desktop computer they can seamlessly move the process to their phone to complete too.

Photos are checked against global databases, so your customer’s identities can be verified with confidence.

If a customer doesn't verify it's up to you to decide if you should proceed with them as a customer or not. Stora doesn’t automatically cancel their booking if they haven't, it lets you know when they haven't so you can decide.

Good to know

  • View the list of accepted document types here. Don't forget to select your country first.

  • For each automated document check you will be charged £1.25 (or equivalent in your currency). Should an identity check fail, the customer can retry a further two times. These charges will be tallied and billed quarterly.

  • You can give a customer additional attempts by visiting their contact page and granting them another attempt from the Identity Verification section.

  • You can also press Skip here to remove the requirement for them to verify their identity.

  • You can view the status of all ID checks by visiting your contacts page, and selecting Identity Checks at the top.
