Creating subscriptions using payment method 'Other'

Send customers an invoice with a payment link and automate their card payments each month, or send a request to add a card to their account

This method of creating subscriptions can be useful for getting customers to Stora. The premise is that your customers will be emailed an invoice, which they can pay via card.

Once the customer pays this first invoice using their card, the subscription will be set up for future recurring card payments automatically. Customers can also add a card to their account before the invoice is generated.

  1. Create the subscription using the payment method Other and ensure the box below is ticked. The move in day is the billing date in Stora, so they will be emailed an invoice on the date chosen as move in. (If you are moving customers across from your previous billing system, select the date that would be their next billing date and then ensure they are cancelled in your previous system.)

  2. You can also send the customer an email to add a card during subscription creation by selecting Add payment card request. (This email can also be sent after subscription from the customers profile.)

Once the customer pays via card, the invoice will update to 'Paid', and the subscription will automatically be set up for future automatic payments.

If the customer adds a payment card before the subscription starts, the payment will be made using that card automatically and used for subsequent payments.
